Ads, ads, ads, ads

So Apple released a mobile ad platform, and so did Twitter. Then there are also other lower-level advertising platforms, like Fusion Ads and The Deck. That’s a lot of ads, which will eventually all find their way to your iPhone or iPad or other mobile device.

I’ve been thinking which ad platforms will take over the mobile space, and which are going to disappear. What if they all could profit from this? Also: What about developers that are already displaying ads in their app in order to keep it free?

What if Twitter clients who include Twitter ads get a 60% cut? What if Fusion Ads buys advertising space at Apple, and takes a 40% cut themselves (like Apple)? In the end, even though there’s a bigger number of middle-men, it’s a win-win for both Twitter and Apple, lower-level ad companies, and developers.

One thing is certain: Just like the iPad, we haven’t seen the full potential of ads yet. But my gut feeling tells me everyone will walk away happy.
